Every two years, Klaipėda City Municipality Centre of Ethnic Culture organises the traditional International Folklore Festival Parbėg Laivelis. The festival dates back to 1992 and is included in the festival calendar of CIOFF (the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts, an Official Partner of UNESCO). During the festival, foreign guests present their country's traditional songs, music, dances, peculiarities of national costume. The most interesting folklore groups from ethnographic regions of Lithuania also participate in the events. Concerts are constantly held on the main stage of the festival. Also, Klaipėda fayre is traditionally held, where the most talented folk artists and culinary heritage producers take part. There are also creative workshops that reveal the traditions, subtleties of national costumes, singing and music playing manners of different countries and regions of Lithuania; exhibitions and meetings are held too. In the evening, viewers are invited to folk dance, traditional singing, religious singing, ethnic film evenings, etc.
